Although Danny Rowe’s love of the performance automobile may have predetermined his future, it was work first before following his passion.
Learning a strong work ethic from his family at an early age would prove to be one of his strongest attributes. In his formative years, growing up in western Canada, Rowe had a strong attraction to the automobile. As a teenager he not only worked as a mechanic, but bought and restored classic cars. He also bought and sold houses. In 1984, a business opportunity landed Rowe and his wife, Val, in Southern California.
Starting in a sales position for an import company specializing in giftware, Rowe would eventually become a vice president and a leader in the company’s international expansion, traveling worldwide. Having put a lot of time in establishing a successful business career, when it got to the point that he could afford the cost, Rowe was ready to turn his focus toward racing. |
| Rowe’s desire to field fast racing vehicles was set in motion with the construction of a top-notch Pro Street car. He used the involvement to learn the many intricacies of drag racing, but it wasn’t long before rule changes and the instability of this arena led him to consider stepping up to Pro Modified. |
